Shabat Silence

Friday sunset: Orange hue of street laps make the play ground look sepia. Students are huddled all around the square area feeding from the free wifi that radiates from the supermarket to my right. It is closed for Shabat...as is everything, so much more quiet, the road with not so many sirens and vooom(!) power from boy racers exhausts. However, the crackling pops of fireworks are more frequent, and being the suspicious westerner I am on the first night I thought it was gun fire. I now am almost ashamed to of thought that, how could I of when in the day time everything is so relaxed and in its own way peaceful?
