I am fascinated with the variety of plants within Israel, I wanted to comment on how each one is beautiful and amazing within its own right. I took only one leaf from each tree that I found around my area and wanted to display their forms. colours and textures. The ever strong light in Israel is something I am not so familiar with in mid November so I also wanted to comment on how the light hits the leaves... I feel this back fired a little because the light was too strong and therefore silhouetted the forms rather than exhibiting their textures and colours. Also an unexpected outcome was the classes reaction to the open window, everyone immediately commented on the open window and how it looked onto the West bank Wall so therefore was a political statement.
Elements / Materials:
- Variety of leaves from the surrounding neighbourhood
- White cotton
- Wind from the open windows to make the leaves move/rustle/resonate with the wind.
- Light from the open curtains to emphasise the leaves
